The Big Wheel

Technology has helped solidify the human race as the dominant species on planet earth, and as of now nothing has helped to do that more than the automobile. The auto mobile can take one from one place to another in very short amount of time. Trips that would take month’s now take days. The auto mobile also supply’s a safe way of travel. One does not have to worry about bandits and raiders like in old western time. Automobiles also brought upon a personal sense of style and personality to people and the car’s they buy. Some cars are considered cools and other’s are not, what do you want to be? In the future, automobiles may take human beings to new heights and new worlds never before dreamed of by man.
A car ride today was the trip and journey of yesterday. Wagons and horses were the main transportation for the people in colonial ages. Many wagons had 2 to 4 horses, and traveled at very low speeds. Also, terrain was an obstacle not really experienced today. Now, high performance cars can travel at an excess of 200 miles per hour and have over 500 horse power. We can get from here to there in a very short amount of time. It allows people to use there time more effectively in the new high tempo world of today. Traveling is not as much of a hassle, which allows people to interact and communicate with those that would be unreachable in colonial times. One can “see the world” with relative ease, and enjoy the nicer things in life.
Two cars travailing at 80 miles per hour hit in a high speed collision, sounds like a physics problem. No, this is the real life hazard of driving a car. Car makers though, are prepared to fight back with the relative safety of new improvements. Today, cars are moving closer and closer to lighter materials and safety. Seat belts are a key safety feature in which laws are based around and lives are saved. Airbags which deploy from the driver’s danger zones, keep them safe and free of bottle harm. Voice systems feel your car get in an accident and report all important info to a safety network. It beats the hazard of Native American raids, and threats on your life by gunpoint.
Mustangs, Corvettes, Porsche, what do they all have in common? They are all a different style of car which expresses one’s personality as well as status. Kids of today are always looking for the cool and desirable cars that will make them “the talk of the town.” Grown men want to woo the ladies in the fancy foreign cars. Some cars give a reputation of being a “player” or “high roller” while others just show a hard working man down on their luck. Cars tend to impress on a person something they see in themselves. People go to shows where other owners of the same car can go and express their similarities in the cars the like. Just the ownership of a certain style of car offers a sense of acceptation in a persons mind.
The Automobile, not just an item, but a revolution taking place behind the scenes in labs and warehouses. Man will be able to soar to new heights expanding their environment and challenging the laws of nature. Trips will become an even less undertaking as one can drive and or fly to their destination. As fuel runs low, new energy will be created to make cars keep going into the future. Cars may turn into the rocket ship of today causing humans to meet other beings and learn from them. One never really knows how far one invention may take us.
